Mary and Rusty Garrett Fundraising Challenge
for the NEW Birth Center!

Every gift matched ~ up to $20,000!

We are raising funds to ensure that our new Birth Center is a safe and loving haven for women and their families.  Mary and Rusty Garrett have committed to matching every gift for this project up to $20,000, effectively doubling any gift made by October 1, 2010 to this special campaign.

Funds raised for this campaign will support the creation of a Birth Center that is warm and inviting as well as functional. Many of the special features include:

• “Green” materials and construction practices to reduce toxicity.

• 1600 additional square feet, which includes 4 birth rooms each with a private restroom and 7 exam rooms.

• A dedicated space for Mom/Baby groups, Centering Pregnancy classes, and community meetings.

• Plenty of colors to create the desired mood for each area of the center.

• Lighting, artwork, and furniture choices that emphasize the home-like nature of the space.

• A birth tub for each birthing room!

• Separate entrances for staff, clinic patients, and birth center families.

There are several opportunities for naming and dedication.

We are also raising funds specifically to name a birthing room after founders Kathryn Schrag and Mariann Shinoskie, and to name the community education room and library in honor of birth center fathers and Peter Treistman.
